EEL BROOK COMMON - Fencing

Closes 31 Jan 2018

Opened 22 Dec 2017

Overview

The Council is proposing to make improvements to the fencing around the Slips area of Eel Brook Common, on New King’s Road.  The Slips is a strip of grassland running to the south of the common which is made up of distinct fenced areas.

Current Provision and Condition

There is currently a mix of fencing styles surrounding the four areas of the Slips:

Area 1 – South Area

Triangular grassed space with flower/bulb planting and no formal access.

Current fencing: wooden post and metal rail fencing.

Area 2 – Dog Exercise Area

Grassed dog exercise area with public access via gates.

Current fencing: a mix of metal interlaced bow-top and chain link.

Area 3 – Central Area

Grassed area with public access via gates.

Current fencing: a mix of metal interlaced bow-top and chain link.

Area 4 - North Area

Grassed area with flower/bulb planting and no formal access.

Current fencing: metal standard bow-top fencing.

Why We Are Consulting

We believe that the appearance of the fencing here could be improved - sections of the fencing are old, of mismatched styles, and deteriorating in condition.
