Violence Against Women and Girls Survey

Closes 30 Jun 2021

Opened 21 Apr 2021

Overview

Hammersmith & Fulham Council has launched a new survey to hear from residents about how we can help support local women and girls to end violence.

We believe that ending violence against women and girls is everyone’s business and we’re seeking your views to help us.  You do not need have to have experienced violence or abuse to take part. The survey should take no more than five minutes.

Domestic abuse affects one in four women at some point in their lives. One in five women have been subjected to stalking or harassment and one five women have been subjected to sexual assault at some point in their lives in England and Wales.

There are various forms of VAWG, the umbrella term used to describe a range of violent and abusive acts and behaviours that disproportionately affect women and girls:

  • domestic abuse (including coercive control)
  • rape and sexual violence
  • female genital mutilation
  • forced marriage
  • crimes in the name of 'honour'
  • sexual harassment
  • stalking
  • trafficking
  • prostitution/sexual exploitation

If you need support or are worried about someone experiencing VAWG, please call 999 in an emergency. The Angelou Partnership is a service which can offer advice and support Domestic Violence | Angelou.org | London, England.

Thank you for taking the time to help.
