BACKGROUND

Hammersmith & Fulham Council are updating our Tenancy Strategy, which was last reviewed in 2015.

In this new version, we restate H&F’s preference for issuing Lifetime tenancies, and outline the use of and circumstances for issuing the following types of tenancies:

  • Lifetime tenancies
  • Introductory Tenancies
  • (Flexible) Fixed Term Tenancies
  • Licenses to Occupy

Our Tenancy Strategy sets out H&F’s position on the types and use of tenancies for its social housing stock, informs partnering registered social housing providers (RSHPs) of the Council’s view on the issue and use social housing tenancies, and ensures there is a consistent approach to the types of social housing tenancies issued in H&F across all social housing providers. It also supports affordable housing being genuinely affordable.
