Poplar Grove - proposals to reduce anti-social behaviour and dangerous driving

We would like to get your views on improving safety in your area.

We’ve had many complaints from residents, the police, and councillors about motorcycles cutting through the road closure at the Poplar Grove/Melrose Terrace junction, some of them driving at excessive speeds, causing noise and anti-social behaviour in the area.

We’re proposing some changes to tackle these problems and we’d like your views on them before we decide whether to proceed.

We’d like to:

  • improve the existing road closure at Poplar Grove, at present there are a number of bollards which don’t deter motorcycles. We propose to landscaped area, a sample scheme is shown on the plan, this will make the area more attractive and deter this cut through
  • to assist in reducing excessive speeds we intend to install three road humps between Shepherd’s Bush Road and Melrose Terrace

We’ll only go ahead with the proposals if the majority of respondents support it, so please let us have your views.
